“You already carry the spirit of awakening within you—it is your birthright, waiting to be remembered.” – Jack Kornfield
Dear ones,
There comes a time in all of our lives when we need something to steady us—a way to remember what matters. The Buddha spoke of three simple refuges: the awakening of the heart, the truth of love, and the power of community.
To take refuge in awakening is to trust that no matter how difficult things become, the possibility of freedom and clarity is already within you. To take refuge in love is to recognize that hatred and fear are never the answer, that healing comes through compassion. And to take refuge in community is to know you don’t have to do this alone—that we belong to one another, and to this living earth itself.
Please enjoy the above video, The Three Jewels: How Spirit, Truth, and Community Set Us Free. These refuges are not abstract ideals. They are the supports that allow us to walk through the world with courage, tenderness, and a deep sense of connection.
With metta,
Jack
