Dear friends and fellow compassionate beings,

HERE IS A FREE COURSE TO STEADY THE HEART AND STRENGTHEN COMPASSION.

Our world is in a time of enormous change, which Joanna Macy calls “The Great Turning.” In these uncertain times—of unrest, of division, of deep collective anxiety—many of us are wondering how to stay grounded, how to stay kind, how to stay hopeful and helpful. Stand Up for Compassion – my new free online course and resource can help you find a steady heart in a world that can feel unsteady.

This offering is a spiritual rudder to help navigate turbulent waters. Together, we explore practices and teachings to meet fear with loving kindness, to transform anxiety into imagination and hope, and to remember that even in darkness, we can become a beacon of light for others.

Remember the story Zen master Thich Nhat Hanh told of the crowded refugee boats. “If even one person on the boat stayed calm, it was enough. It showed the way for everyone to survive.”

In this free online course we’ll learn to become the calm one on the boat who can show the way for all. We’ll reflect on our deepest values, learn how to stand up for what matters, and discover the power of community and the possibility of a wiser, more caring society.

This course contains heartfelt stories, wise teachings, grounding meditations—and above all, hope and encouragement—like the imaginal cells inside the butterfly chrysalis which remind us of the beautiful transformation that is possible when we meet the process of change with an imaginative mind and an open heart.

So if the state of the world has you concerned, fearful, or despairing—for yourself, the environment, or those vulnerable around you—join this new free online course, Stand Up For Compassion, and let’s walk together this path of courage, love, and clarity.
