Continuing Education Credit Providers Information:

Continuing Education (CE) credit is co-sponsored by the Spiritual Competency Academy (SCA). CE credit is available for licensed psychologists, and California licensed MFTs, LCSWs, LEPs, LPCCs, Nurses, Chiropractors, and may be applicable for other licenses. Please review the approval and board details below. It is the responsibility of the participant to determine if their accreditation board will accept the credits offered by the SCA, the SCA does not confirm the applicability of credit for those with licenses different than those listed above.

CE credit for psychologists is provided by the Spiritual Competency Academy. The Spiritual Competency Academy is approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. The California Board of Behavioral Sciences accepts CE credits for LCSW, LPCC, LEP, and LMFT license renewal for programs offered by approved sponsors of CE by the American Psychological Association, as listed in Article 8, § 1887.4.1. Board-Recognized Approval Agencies.

SCA is a provider approved by The California Board of Registered Nursing, (Provider Number CEP16887) for licensed nurses in California.

The California Board of Chiropractic Examiners’ Code of Regulations 361(h)(2) provides that continuing education requirements may be met by taking continuing education courses by any California Healing Arts Board-approved provider, including those approved by the BRN.

The California Board of Occupational Therapy allows for 12 of the 24 required continuing competency units to include occupation-based theory assessment/interview techniques, intervention strategies, and community/environment as related to your practice. The CBOT does not approve courses for continuing competency, and determining the applicability of course material for personal practice is the responsibility of the participant. Attendance Policies:

Attendance is tracked automatically for live online programs. Self-paced programs require the completion of a test. To be eligible for CE credits, participants are required to:

  • Review the program in full
  • Complete the self-test with a 75% accuracy. Participants are permitted to retake the test if 75% accuracy is not achieved.

Certificates of Attendance will be available to those who complete the attendance requirements and submit the CEC evaluation within the stated timeframe.

Cancellation Policies:

  • Participant cancellations – Refunds for online courses: If the course that you purchased is not what you were expecting, you can request, within 30 days of your purchase a refund for the course. No refund is due to you if you request it after the 30-day time limit has passed.  Please send refund requests including your name, the email address that you used when you set up your account with us, and the course name to info@jackkornfield.com
  • JackKornfield.com cancellations: Jack Kornfield rarely cancels a program, but in the unlikely event that we do, all registered participants will be notified by phone and email, and the cancellation notice will be posted on our website. We will issue a refund within 7-10 business days.

Grievances:

If a grievance arises pertaining to continuing education programs, teachers, or processes, the complainant should write to CEC@jackkornfield.com, as soon as possible, so that the nature of the concern may be addressed in a timely fashion. If a grievance cannot be resolved this way, a participant may contact the appropriate professional association directly.

The Spiritual Competency Academy is fully committed to conducting all activities in strict conformance with the American Psychological Association’s Ethical Principles of Psychologists. SCA will comply with all legal and ethical responsibilities to be non-discriminatory in promotional activities, program content, and in the treatment of program participants. The monitoring and assessment of compliance with these standards will be the responsibility David Lukoff, PhD, Director of SCA.
