White Teachers Responding to Racism and Suffering: A Community Q&A with Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman
June 4 @ 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm
As my colleagues at Spirit Rock have noted, we each have different roles to play in our shared intention of non-harming and liberation for all beings. We acknowledge the profound and differential impacts of recent events on communities who identify as Black, Indigenous, People of Color (BIPOC). We also acknowledge the differential responsibilities that those of us who are white hold to change the systems, processes, and actions that result in this kind of recurring and preventable racist harm and loss of Black lives.
On Thursday, June 4 (4pm PT), please join us, in partnership with other insight meditation communities, for “White Teachers Responding to Racism and Suffering: A Community Q&A with Tara Brach, Jack Kornfield and Trudy Goodman.” The teachings will be particularly focused on the work white people have to do. But all are welcome, and we will explore our questions in a safe and respectful container. Together, we’ll honor these painful times as an opening for courageous action.
This FREE event is sponsored by Spirit Rock, Insight Meditation Society, InsightLA and the Insight Meditation Community of Washington.
