Jack Kornfield
Jack Kornfield trained as a Buddhist monk in Thailand, India, and Burma. He holds a Ph.D. in clinical psychology and is a founding teacher of the Insight Meditation Society in Massachusetts and Spirit Rock Meditation Center in California. He is one of the key teachers to introduce mindfulness practice to the West, has taught internationally since 1974, and is the author of 16 books which have sold 2 million copies.

In this talk, I invite you to cultivate the luminous heart within, reminding you that well-being is not something to chase—it is your natural state. Through presence, loving awareness, and gentle practice, you can nurture the field of well-being in yourself and the world around you.
In these current times, it’s so important to take time to recharge and recalibrate—to unwind the body, relax the mind, and open the heart. That’s why I invite you in warmth and wisdom, to relax into this embodying guided meditation I shared some years ago at Spirit Rock, exploring how to soften into presence no matter the outside circumstance.
What we choose to emphasize in this complex history will determine our lives. If we see only the worst, it destroys our capacity to do something good. But if we remember the times and places—and there are so many—where people have behaved magnificently, this gives us the energy to act, and the possibility of sending the spinning top of the world in a fine direction.
